Subversive tip – No daily coffee

Many people can’t get their day off to a start without their morning cup of coffee, bought from their local cafe.  How can NOT having something which is a small daily pleasure help you become a more subversive, and therefore freer and happier person?  Read on to find out how.

Firstly, I have to say that I don’t drink coffee – so this is quite easy for me to say!  Secondly, this is all about achieving freedom through a paradigm shift – so it is more important that you change your mind rather than your coffee drinking.

The issue at stake is thoughtful thinking rather than simply doing something day after day as a habit.  You don’t want to end up as a mindless drone, do you?  By having a day with no daily coffee, you are breaking out of the habit of doing something without thinking.  You can put the $5 you would spend on your daily cup of coffee aside and use it for something else.  You can spend the few minutes doing something else that you enjoy.

The next time that you want to have a cup of coffee, you can do so deliberately and intently, without simply doing the same thing, day after day.  No more walking down to the shop on autopilot, brain disengaged.  While you’re down there, why not try something different to that old flat white?
