Subversive tip – Recycle a plastic cup

Today’s subversive tip in on how to improve your life by recycling a plastic cup.  We all know that recycling is good for the environment (reduce, reuse, recycle) but how can it help us become more free and independent people?  Read on to find out how.

Plastic cups are a ubiquitous form of rubbish.  They represent something that is manufactured, that consumes raw materials, is used once and then becomes landfill or is burnt.  How can a single plastic cup be meaningfully recycled or reused, saving waste?  One way is by using it as a seed planter.

You only need some soil, water and a seed to use the plastic cup to raise a plant.  Once the seedling grows, you can easily transplant it to a larger pot.

In warm weather, I recommend watermelon seeds.  Once started, and transplanted, they grow all over the place and it is fun watching the watermelons grow from the yellow flowers.

All wealth is created by the mind.  The recycling and repurposing of a plastic cup is an example of converting something useless into something useful by looking at it differently.  The free and subversive person doesn’t see anything in the normal limited way.

To a confined mind, a plastic cup is rubbish.   The free person is like a child who plays with a leftover piece of wrapping paper, able to see and explore endless possibilities without constraint.  To the free person, the plastic cup can be many things, including a planter for raising a seedling.  The free person gains, and the environment gains by looking at something differently.
